As in Nursery rhymes and Birthday parties (explained in my Birthday article). The traditions in Wedding were probably started off in the past with a darker reason for being.
The white wedding dress was thought to ward off evil spirits.
Bridesmaids were dressed similarly to the bride to confuse evil spirits as to who was getting married.
Throwing the bridal flowers meant the person who catches it will be next to marry.
The names of the ring finger in many languages reflect an ancient belief that it is a magical finger.
